

Dr. Michael G. Sheehan was born in Syracuse, New York in 1958. He did his undergraduate studies at LeMoyne College. Subsequently he attended medical school at the Upstate Medical Center (now Health Science Center at Syracuse).
After graduation in 1984, he completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Allegheny General Hospital, in Pittsburgh, PA. Following completion, he did one year of subspecialty training in Infectious Diseases at the Presbyterian University Hospital, also in Pittsburgh.
Between 1989 and 1991, he worked as a general internist in a large multispecialty group in Johnson City, NY. In 1991 he continued his medical education by completing a three year integrated fellowship in Allergy, Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology at the University of Rochester Medical Center at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. During that time he became involved in a clinical study related with sensitivity to latex, involving children with spina bifida and health professionals.
His special interests relate with chronic sinus disease, latex induced allergic reactions and asthma. He is also interested in drug reactions and co-authored a paper related with allergic reactions to cyclophosphamide. Dr. Sheehan enjoys opportunities to teach and has an active teaching role with the Department of Internal Medicine at Upstate Medical University.
Dr. Michael G. Sheehan joined his father and the clinic in the summer of 1994. He is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Upstate Medical University. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (AAAAI) and the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology(ACAAI). He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and American Board of Allergy and Immunology. He is recertified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology(ABAI) in 2005.
Dr. N. Andrei Popescu was born and raised in Bucharest, capital city of Romania, where he lived till his arrival in the USA, in 1983. He did his undergraduate work in Bucharest at "Spiru Haret". He earned his M.D. degree in 1970 from Carol Davila University of Medicine, also located in Bucharest. After working as a general practitioner for a period of three years, he entered a three year residency training in dermatology and subsequently became board certified by the Romanian Board of Dermatology. He worked as a staff dermatologist in the second largest hospital in Bucharest, where he became chief of dermatology four years prior to his departure. In addition to his clinical duties, he was also involved in the teaching of students and residents in both medicine and dermatology.
Upon his arrival in the USA , after passing the legal required examinations, he extended his training with two years of biochemistry and molecular biology at the University of Minnesota and one year of clinical epidemiology at the Mayo Clinic Medical School, Rochester Minnesota. During that period he also published several scientific and medical papers.
His clinical training continued with a three year residency in internal medicine at the Worcester City Hospital, that held a major affiliation with the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, MA. Following this, he did two additional years of fellowship training in allergy and clinical immunology at the Strong Memorial Hospital, the major teaching hospital of the University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester, NY.
With completion of his training in allergy and immunology, he remained with the University of Rochester as an assistant professor of medicine and became the chief of the Allergy and Immunology Service at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, NY. In this position, he was involved in the teaching of students and residents in medicine, and published extensively in various medical journals. His clinical interests were related with common allergic problems, such as allergic rhinitis, asthma, allergic and immunologic skin conditions and drug reactions, as well as vasculitis and a variety of connective tissue diseases such as lupus, scleroderma, dermatomyositis, rheumatoid arthritis, Sjogren's disease.
In June 1997, he joined Drs. Richard and Michael Sheehan in their private practice in Syracuse, NY. Dr. Popescu is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Upstate Medical University. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (AAAAI). He is certified by the Romanian Board of Dermatology, American Board of Internal Medicine and American Board of Allergy and Immunology. He is recertified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology(ABAI) in 2003.
Dr. Harcharan Singh graduated from medical school in New Delhi, India in 1985. He trained in Pediatrics in India. Dr. Singh went to the United Kingdom to continue his work in pediatrics and developed an interest in asthma, allergies and immunology.
Dr. Singh came to the United States in 1994 and completed his pediatric residency at North Shore University Hospital, Manhasset, New York in 1996.
He went on to practice pediatrics in Logan, Ohio until 1999 and obtained board certification in pediatrics.
Dr. Singh joined SUNY at Buffalo for fellowship studies in adult & pediatric allergy and immunology from 1999 to 2001. Obtained board certification in allergy and immunology in 2001.
Practiced in allergy immunology in Portland, Oregon for one year before returning to New York to join AARA in Sep 2002.
