Allergy, Asthma, Rheumatology Associates, P.C. (AARA) is a major medical facility devoted to providing high quality care to children and adults suffering from allergies, asthma and related conditions, in Syracuse and surrounding areas of the Central New York State. In addition, the clinic provide work up and treatment for the major immunological conditions, such as immune deficiencies, immunological rheumatological conditions and immunological and allergic skin conditions.

AARA had a fairly humble beginning when Dr. Richard K. Sheehan (retired Sept., 2002) opened an 850 square foot office in 1963. At that time the only office personnel were 1 nurse-receptionist and Dr. Sheehan himself.

Since that time the clinic has moved twice and expanded considerably. The current office at 1200 East Genesee street is 4500 sqare foot and consists of sixteen professionals: 8 registered nurses, one medical technologist, 2 typists, 2 receptionists and one office manager, Dr. Michael G. Sheehan, and Dr. N. Andrei Popescu. In Fall 2002, Dr. Harcharan Singh who is a pediatric allergist joined the practice adding to its ability to service patients of all ages.

The clinic has well trained professional and nursing staff which has been working for many years in the field of allergy and immunology. The nursing staff is highly qualified in administering allergy injections, preparation of immunotherapy serums, skin testing, performing tympanometry and pulmonary function tests, etc.

Over the years, the office has seen over 30,000 patients of all ages and with all types of allergic and immunologic problems. The future is always an unknown, but our current office structure and personnel should be more than adequate to meet whatever medical challenges present themselves.
